FINE DAY

This is one of those LOs where I used my scraps, even the dragonflies were made from acetate scraps that I had in my scrap bin.  I didnt have an 'i' for my title so I made one out of another 'n'.

You should try this as a challenge...you can use a piece of cardstock and a photo but try to only use scraps for the rest...check out your misc letters too, you may be able to make a title out of them.

BOY

This was my first attempt at a mono chromatic page.

Once again Ive used white to highlight the photo otherwise the photo would not have have had the punch.

TRAINS

It was a sunny spring day and Isaac decided to set up the Thomas trains in the sun.  I got down on the floor with my camera and just snapped heaps of photos.

I created a base of photos along the bottom and then cut out a couple more.  I layered these on to the base and then highlighted the photos with Isaac in them with a white gel pen.  This makes those images stand out..in fact a white gel pen is proberly one of the most used items in my scrap collection (up there with double sided tape).

I used a checkerboard stamp behind the raise title to give it a little more punch and depth.

SURFER BOY

I love this LO of my little beach baby.  With his long hair he really does look like a surfer.

I used white paint on a make up sponge around the edges of the photos to give the impression of the foam of the surf.  I also used the same paint on the Chipboard letters.

I used layering of the photos and of the banner at the bottom of the page in imitation of the surf.

YOU DID IT!

I took a series of photos of my son going across an obstacle in a playground.  These made for a great panoramic LO.  I used brads to make arrows going in the direction of travel.  Metallic paints on a make up sponge makes a good element on plain cardstock and helps to create that chaotic feel.

TRULY CUTE

This was my first LO where I used a friends Cricut (Thanks Lara!).  What a fabulous toy...if you can find someone with one it is really worth playing with.  I went for a real Americana theme with the colours here and used ribbon stapled to the page as flag type elements.

3 RASCALS

This was an easy LO.  I just layered the papers I wanted to use and then continued the white lines and cirles on the papers on to the photos with a white pen.  This makes the photos one with the papers.

MAGIC

This was so much fun to do.  It came on a day when I didnt know what to scrap so I decided to 'lift' a LO I saw on another website.  I used all my stock of little flowers and bling on this.  And yes that is a boy!  The hair has all gone now...so sad.

BROADLEY 1907

With this LO I decided to a different take on the heritage look.  The photo was adjusted to black and white rather than sepia and I decided to touch up the look with a little lime.  I still used heritage styled items such as a handmade lace and a paper doillie that I cut down.  I used buttons but went for a modern style with the polka dots and then painted a chipboard flower black and added polka dots.

D

This LO comprises of handsewing with embroidery thread.  To make this easier punch the holes first using an awl.  This saves the holes in the thumb later on

YOUR SMILE

This is an example of a clear LO.  I used a 12x12 sheet of acetate....only problem is you really need to think carefully about the back of the next page in the album.

TIP:  When using acetate cover the space you are not working on with scrap paper so that you do not get fingerprints on it  as they are very tricky to get off.

SURFER BOY

I really this LO.  I used white paint on a makeup sponge to accent the edges of the photos and to give the impression of the foam of the surf.
